Vijayawada Energy Efficiency Services Limited (EESL) a joint venture of Central PSUs under the Ministry of Power after signing a memorandum of agreement with the Andhra Pradesh Housing Department will discuss a plan for the execution of the energy-efficient prestigious project with an aim to make it a national model.
As part of efforts to boost energy efficiency (EE) in housing and building sectors, EESL has joined hands with the Andhra Pradesh government for the landmark ‘Navaratnalu Pedalandariki Illu’ housing project under PMAY. The MoA marks a crucial stride towards sustainable housing with enhanced EE. The EESL officials will soon visit the State to assess and plan the project’s execution.
AP State Housing Corporation Limited (APSHCL) will facilitate high-quality, cost-effective energy-efficient appliances to the housing scheme beneficiaries sourced through EESL. This initiative empowers them to lower electricity bills, improve living standards and protect the environment. Those choosing these appliances voluntarily (not mandatory) will enjoy a package comprising four LED bulbs, two LED tube lights and two energy efficiency fans at prices below market rates.
This strategic step is expected to result in substantial energy savings, estimated at 734 units per house annually, and a total of 1145 million units yearly across 15.6 lakh houses in phase-1 of the scheme. Energy-efficient BLDC fans are set to reduce consumption by 50 per cent, LED tube lights by 60 per cent, and LED bulbs by an impressive 90 per cent compared to conventional
appliances.
